ABOUT TEXAS BUTCHER BLOCKS

A couple years ago I was injured and unable to work. While undergoing rehab and I regained verylimited mobility, I decided to make myself an end grain butcher block. I spend a great deal of time cooking and also love my kitchen knives to remain razor sharp. I had always wanted an end grain butcher block but could never afford to buy one retail.

After I completed it I decided it would be a great Christmas gift for my sons. All of whom have kitchen skills and enjoy cooking, to varying degrees. After all, it is a gift that will last a lifetime, I reasoned. After completing those three, I was getting pretty good at it and decided on Christmas gifts for parents, in-laws, and siblings. I posted a couple pictures of my “Christmas shopping” and the response was immediate and overwhelming. I had many, many requests to make them for sale.

In response I did a careful cost analysis and realized I could make and sell them significantly less expensively than the name brand boards. Now I offer carefully crafted blocks and boards of the highest quality, in a variety of shapes and sizes, at very affordable prices. I can now offer “functional pieces of art” to fit any budget that will last a lifetime while preserving the razor sharp cutting edge of all your kitchen knives.
